Participating in God’s Ongoing Mission
The FPC Global Mission ministry seeks to participate in God’s mission by building relationships with our sisters and brothers in Christ. We have partner churches in Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, and Kenya. In partnership, we walk with and stand for one another. We also partner with four organizations in Atlanta that minister to resettled refugees, international students, international medical professionals, and children from around the world needing surgeries. In partnership, we walk with and stand for one another.
In our partnerships, we seek to follow God’s commandment to “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8). We have true, lasting friendships with our partners, and by regularly traveling to spend time with them or hosting them here in Atlanta, we better understand God’s ongoing work in other parts of the world and here in our home community. Our global partners help us to better understand the root, systemic causes of challenges faced by many Christians around the world. We strive to participate in our partners’ work for economic empowerment, health, education, and access to food and clean water. We keep up with one another’s ministries, worship together, and pray for each other. We are able to receive God’s grace in the love of these friends and we offer support where we can help to build up our partners’ communities and ministries.
Some of our partnerships have developed in the last 5-10 years while some go back almost 30 years. And God is still calling us to know and to love one another! We are renewed by these relationships as we experience God together.
