Join us on Monday, January 17th from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. for our church-wide day of service. Tricia Passuth, Director of FPC Community Ministries, will kick off our morning with a session: Homelessness 101. She’ll dispel some myths about the homeless population, enlighten us about opportunities to serve, and challenge us to reach out with dignity and compassion to our guests who are experiencing homelessness.
Following our group session, we will break into smaller groups for service opportunities that will benefit people served by our community ministries. There will be Sandwich Making, Food Bag Packing, Blanket Making, Closet Clean-Up, and a Creative Corner for pen pals, notes, and cards for inclusion in lunch bags and distribution with mail.
Please bring new or gently used books when you come on the 17th. We need both children’s books (which will be donated to a local school library) and adult books (which will be added to our FPC Book Cart).
If you prefer to serve at home, we encourage you to make and deliver sandwiches to church or to hold a book drive or a canned food drive in your neighborhood.
