The Cross and the Character of Christ: Small Group

  • First Presbyterian Church - Bride's Room 1328 Peachtree Street Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30309 United States (map)

We will return to the model of First in Focus for Lent this year. As in years past, there will be a large group lecture on March 6 and April 10 and curriculum for group or personal study for the weeks in-between.

This year’s study, The Cross and the Character of Christ, explores the Passion Narrative in the gospels. This study will focus on the words, actions, and emotions of Jesus in the final events leading up to his crucifixion. We will focus on what these stories tell us about what it means to be human, and what they tell us about the character of God.

The curriculum for March 13–April 3 will include guided readings from the New Testament, reflection questions, and questions for group discussion. Existing Sunday school classes are encouraged to join the study.

Chris Holmes will facilitate group discussions on Sunday mornings during Lent. Contact Chris Holmes at cholmes@firstpresatl.org for more information.

Large Group Lecture Dates:
March 6 and April 10 in Fifield Hall
