Let's Mahjong

Are you interested in learning how to play Mahjong or enhancing your existing skills? Want to meet more people in the church and have some fun, we have the perfect program for you! We will meet in Fifield Hall from 12:15p.m. - 2:00 p.m., on 4 Sundays in November, the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience level! Bring your own Mahjong set if you have one, or feel free to use one of ours. Two knowledgeable instructors will be there to guide us through the fundamentals and intricacies of Mahjong. Lunch will be organized within the group to make the experience more enjoyable. No childcare will be provided.

Annual Christmas Parade

Annual Christmas Parade

Join us for our Annual FPC Christmas Parade & Hanging of the Greens on Sunday, December 1, from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. I hope you can join us as we walk through the story of Christ's birth and celebrate this sacred time together. After the parade please join us for dinner and our traditional Hanging of the Greens. We will make ornaments to decorate FPC's Christmas tree, listen to Holiday music and enjoy each other's company. Make sure you select a parade start time that works for you and your family. Each start time will include a dinner option following the parade. Please plan on arriving 5 minutes before your scheduled time slot to receive your parade packet with route information. We will be gathering in the Lanier Parking Lot, directly across from the Church on Peachtree.

Dinner will be from Willy’s Taco Bar.

First Presbyterian Preschool Holiday Market

On Friday, December 6th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., join us at the First Presbyterian Preschool Holiday Market in Founders Hall. Shop a wide array of local retailers and artisans this holiday season - accessories, books, gifts, holiday wreaths and arrangements, food items, stationery, and more!

The Holiday Market raises funds to support the teachers at First Presbyterian Preschool. This year, proceeds will go directly to professional development in the Reggio Emilia inspired approach and early math initiatives from Erikson Institute's Early Math Collaborative.

FPC Annual Christmas Pageant

FPC Annual Christmas Pageant

It is that time of year! We hope you and your family will make plans to be part of our annual FPC Christmas Pageant. The pageant is a children-led church service and a special way to celebrate the joy of the Christmas season. This year's Christmas pageant will be Sunday, December 15 during the 11:00 service. Children ages 3 (as of August 1, 2024) thru 5th grade are able to participate. Rehearsals begin on Sunday, October 27th, during the Sunday School hour. They are a critical part of the Christmas pageant and we ask families to commit to attending at least 3 practices PLUS the mandatory dress rehearsal on December 8. We would love to see your family be part of this service!

Trunk or Treat

Calling all our little ghouls and goblins. Let's get together on on October 27th from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and have a little spooky fun and fellowship. This year, weather permitting, we will gather in the Arts Center Way parking lot, behind the church. There will be games, a little trick or treating, a cake walk, arts and crafts, and so much more! Wear your best costume and lets have some fun!

FPC Pumpkin Patch

Come join us for some fall family fun on Saturday, September 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.! $30 entry fee per family provides access to the bounce house, face painting, carnival games, and a pumpkin decorating activity. There will be pumpkins for purchase, and a fall family photo opportunity (with a FPP photographer!). Don’t forget about concessions – breakfast sandwiches, treats, drinks, and more!

Please Join us for a kickoff celebration as we enter the new year together! Our gathering will be Sunday, August 11, 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. We will use this opportunity for parents and children to meet your teachers and discover your classrooms as we embark on this Christian education journey. The celebration will finish with light refreshments and fellowship on the playground. All are welcome and we hope to see you all there.

Easter Egg Hunt

Please join us for our annual FPC Easter Egg Hunt at Winn Park. Lots of Easter eggs will be on site and you may even get to see the Easter Bunny! Fingers crossed that the rain stays away and we actually get to have it outside this year!

The Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Winn Park, 32 Lafayette Dr. NE Atlanta, GA 30309. We hope to see you there!

First Communion

One of the most important and memorable events in a child’s spiritual formation is when he or she first participates in the Lord’s Supper. This year we will be offering a Communion Class to 1st – 5th graders. You and your child are invited to participate in our Communion Classes on Sunday, March 10th and Sunday, March 17th in the Chapel. We will meet during the Sunday School hour (10am-10:45am). Rev. Dr. Barry Gaeddert and Dr. Rev. Tony Sundermeier will lead these classes and review the meaning of the Sacraments.  Both classes are mandatory and at least one parent must attend with their child.

Finally, on May 17th, the children will take communion with the congregation at either the 9am or 11am service.

Please make sure you register for both Sundays. If you can not make one of the Sundays, please contact Katie Covington at kcovington@firstpresatl.org.

2023 Annual Christmas Pageant

It is that time of year! We hope you and your family will make plans to be part of an annual FPC tradition, the Christmas Pageant. The pageant is a children-led church service and a special way to celebrate the joy of the Christmas season. This year's Christmas pageant will be Sunday, December 17 during the 11:00 service.

Children ages 3 (By September 1st) thru 5th grade are able to participate, and we would love to see your family be part of this service! You can register online. Practices are a critical part of the Christmas pageant and we ask families to commit to attending at least 3 practices PLUS the mandatory dress rehearsal on December 10.

You can read more about the practices on the registration form. Practices take place during the 10:00 Sunday School hour, and the dress rehearsal will take place December 10 is following the 11:00 church service. Practices begin Sunday, October 29!

Please join us for this very special, time-honored tradition; The Christmas Parade and Hanging of the Greens! Families journey home-to-home like the Maji in search of the Christ child and find the true spirit of the Christmas season. All travelers then join together in Fifield Hall to create ornaments for tree, share a meal and enjoy the warm company of friends and family. This is an event you will not want to miss. We will kick off our year with our first meeting on Sunday October 15, immediately following 11am worship. Let’s gather to incorporate learning, growing friendships, and turning to our Christian faith for guidance. We will meet for lunch all together and then break up into parent and kid groups.

Come join us for Messy Church held Sunday mornings June 4th thru July 30th from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. in Room 307. All children age Pre-K thru 5th grade are invited to attend.Come along as we explore the biblical presence of God in the mountains, roadside and seas! We will travel along the River Jordan for Jesus's baptism, with Moses as he parts the Red Sea and atop Mount Sanai as he receives the Ten Commandments, and a walk with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus.
